A fusion of elements that accompany participants to live a unique and exclusive experience in a marvellous territory such as Liguria, immersed in the most unspoilt nature.
Cava Arde’ in collaboration with “Touring Off Road”, organises “Very Special Experiences” that accompany participants to discover the territory of the Ligurian hinterland, in particular the Fontanabuona Valley, also known as the Slate Valley.
We organise days dedicated to encountering this undiscovered valley.
We are just behind the Ligurian coast and the famous ‘Portofino’, a stone’s throw from the sea but also very close to the mountains, and this is where the idea of using 4×4 vehicles to accompany participants to get to know a lesser-known area of Liguria comes from.
Starting from Cava Ardè, with our off-road vehicles, we will climb very quickly and, when we are at the top of the hills, a spectacular view of the sea will open up to admire the Bay of Sestri Levante.
Once back at Cava Ardè, we can visit the facility (the slate quarry and the ancient workshop) and learn about the history of the Slate Valley.
The guided tour of the quarry is very suggestive: a context that speaks of lives lived, of the hard work to bring slate to light: “the black gold” of the Fontanabuona Valley.
At the Ardè Quarry, after the 4×4 excursion and the encounter with the world of slate, participants will be able to get to know the cuisine of our chefs, in a truly exclusive setting where history merges with contemporaneity: an austere environment – due to the hard work – but, at the same time, made welcoming.

RAMACETO EXCURSION
Considering that from Mount Ramaceto (1344 m) it is possible to observe a fantastic panorama of the entire Ligurian Apennines, the Ligurian and Maritime Alps, the coast and the sea with Corsica and the Tuscan Islands, the ‘Ramaceto’ excursion not only offers a breathtaking view, but also conveys that feeling of serenity that one feels in the open air, immersed in the scent of nature and, in this case, also in the scent of typical Ligurian dishes.
Excursion: morning & lunch.
H.9:00 – arrival at Cava Arde’, where you will be offered a buffet breakfast.
You will then be taken inside the slate quarry
(the only one open to the public) for a guided tour.
H.11:00 – you will board the 4×4 cars of “Touring off road” to reach Mt.
Ramaceto (1344 m).Here, surrounded by nature, you will be able to enjoy
a “packed” lunch with a menu of your choice.
Return to Cava Arde’ at 14:30.
Excursion: Afternoon & Evening
H.18:00 – arrival at Cava Arde’, where you will be greeted with our welcome toast.
Afterwards, you will be taken inside the
slate quarry (the only one open to the public) for a guided tour.
H.20:00- You will board the 4×4 cars of “Touring off road” to reach Mt.
Ramaceto (1344 m). Here you will be able, surrounded by nature, to enjoy
the colours of the sunset together with a picnic dinner with a menu of your choice.
Return to Cava Arde’ at h.22:30
